We start from the center of Liègeand en route we will again taste some of the old grandeur of this city in the Parc Boverie. Further following to the south the river Meuse.
We leave Liège and turn to the east and the direction of Chaudfontaine this time following the river l’Ourthe. We will cross l’Ourthe to follow the stream the Vesdre. It is a tributary to the river Ourthe. We walk on the banks of the valley and will climb to the Basilique Notre Dame de Chèvremont. Quite easy path already clear with some benches: wear water-proof shoes.
Chaudfontaine is a town on the river Vesder in the province of Liège, Belgium and has almost 21,000 inhabitants. The place has given its name to the spring water brand owned by Coca-Cola since 2003. Chaudfontaine has the only hot spring in the Benelux (37 degrees). This makes it officially a spa. Chaudfontaine did not make it in the name and fame of his more famous brother Spa from the spa of the same name.
